Shamanic Drum Making Weekend
Craft Your Own Medicine Drum

Held at Heartwood Farm Byron Bay
Saturday 4 July 2026
Sunday 5 July 2026

Welcome, and thank you for following the guidance of your heart.

This immersive weekend is a call to gather in a sacred circle, awaken your innate gifts, and reclaim one of the most ancient and powerful tools
within the earth-based wisdom lineage of humankind.

The Shamanic Drum is a profound spiritual technology - an instrument that reconnects us with our true nature, the elements,
Spirit / Creator, and the living heart of Gaia.

Across cultures and throughout time, the Drum has brought people into harmony with the animate forces of nature, supporting healing, ceremony and transformation through rhythm, sound, and embodied presence.

Held on the ancient healing lands of Heartwood Farm in the Byron Bay Hinterland, this ceremonial weekend invites you to craft your own 16-inch Medicine Drum and Beater while learning the sacred traditions and practices connected to the Drum.

The Experience

Across the weekend you will be guided through a sacred process of crafting and activating your own Shamanic Drum.

Expect a refined blend of:

Ceremonial teachings on the symbolism and lineage of the Shamanic Drum
The sacred process of crafting your own 16-inch Medicine Drum and Beater
Shamanic drum journeying practices
Learning traditional drum songs and rhythms
Sacred circle gatherings and ceremonial practices
Time to connect with nature and the land of Heartwood Farm

This is not simply a craft workshop.

It is a ceremonial journey of creation, connection and remembrance.

The Wisdom of the Drum

For thousands of years, drums have been used in cultures around the world as tools for healing, ceremony, and connection with spirit.

The rhythmic beat of the drum mirrors the heartbeat of the Earth and the heartbeat within each of us.

Working with the drum supports:

connection with ancestral wisdom
alignment with the elements and natural cycles
emotional and energetic healing
expanded states of awareness and presence

When you craft your own drum, the relationship becomes deeply personal, a sacred instrument created through your own hands, intention, and ceremony.

The Setting

Heartwood Farm is a private sanctuary set on 102 acres in the Byron Bay Hinterland.

Rolling hills.
River frontage.
Open skies.

The land offers a peaceful and grounding environment to gather in circle, connect with nature and honour the ceremonial process of creating your drum.

Participants will share time around the fire circle, ancient grandmother tree, stone labyrinth and the natural beauty of the farm.

This is a space where the rhythm of the land naturally slows everything down.

What You Will Learn

Across the weekend you will explore:

The symbolic language woven into the Shamanic Drum
Its historical and cultural lineage
Sacred drum songs and shamanic journeying
Techniques to craft and activate your drum
The masculine and feminine principles within the drum-making process

Each drum is unique, and the timing of the process will unfold naturally for each participant.
